Hi! I’m Alejandro.

I’m an educator focused on understanding how people learn, develop, and reach their potential.

My journey began as a violinist and educator, where years of performance and teaching shaped my understanding of learning, discipline, creativity, and human development.

Today, my work explores the intersection of education, psychology, and high-performance practice — understanding what enables people to grow, develop capabilities, and achieve meaningful progress.

My Story

Throughout my career as a musician, educator, and programme leader, I kept noticing the same pattern: what we understand as “natural ability” or “talent” alone rarely explained who progressed and who didn’t.

How do people acquire new abilities? What allows individuals to overcome challenges? How do environments influence growth and performance?

These questions have guided my work designing learning experiences, mentoring people in the early stages of their development, and exploring the principles that help people improve.

My approach combines insights from education, psychology, and performance to understand not only what people achieve, but how they develop.

What Inspires Me

I have always been curious about how things work — how people learn, improve, create, and experience life.
Beyond my work, I find inspiration in the areas that continue to shape the way I think.

Music

I have been playing the violin since I was three, and in many ways, it has been my way of discovering the world. Through music, I have encountered different cultures, perspectives, and remarkable people, continually challenging the way I see both the world and myself.

Nature

I’m drawn to nature because it reminds me of where we come from and what we are. Modern life can make us forget this, surrounding us with layers of noise, and distraction. Being in nature brings me back to something more essential and gives me a sense of connection with the world we are part of.

Reading, Writing & Listening

I get genuinely excited when I encounter someone who sees the world in a way I haven’t considered before. I enjoy debating not to prove a point, but to build ideas together and arrive somewhere neither of us could have reached alone. Writing helps me do the same on my own—to organise my thoughts and connect ideas.

Movement & Body

I believe movement is fundamental to being human, and that taking care of our bodies is part of taking care of ourselves. I enjoy sport for the way it connects us with our bodies, while also appreciating the subtle aesthetics of strength, movement, and physicality.

Curiosity

I see curiosity as an antidote to prejudice. When someone challenges our beliefs, our first instinct can be to judge. I try to replace that instinct with a question: why? Understanding where people come from doesn’t mean agreeing with them, but it creates space for perspective and freedom from our own assumptions.

The Wonder of the Everyday

I enjoy noticing the things that are easy to overlook: a beautiful coffee, an interesting person, or a carefully prepared meal. I often think about everything that had to happen for these simple moments to exist. These small moments of appreciation remind me how much there is to notice and how lucky I am to be alive.
